Would anyone be able to tell me about how much I would have to pay for the Portland Head, Maine Harbour Lights lighthouse which was introduced in 1992 and retired in 1994? I know there were 5500 made, but I can't find any information their worth now...

I would guess a Portland Head LE would cost between $450-$600. The average prices on HL's are down right now so a good price would be $450 or anything a little lower than that.

Once again, a Portland Head LE or any other HL is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. It's similar to the value placed on real money and vacation money. Most people are willing to spend more for something on vacation than during the rest of the year.

The 2002 Collector's Mart Price Guide to Limited Edition Collectibles has Portland Head listed at $675.00. This information was compiled in 2001 before 9/11 and the HL market collapse. I think Bob's price is more realistic at $450.00 - $600.00 but who knows what the market will be now as prices for the much wanted limited editions seem to be increasing slowly but surely a year after 9/11.

Historically, the price of Portland Head on the secondary market tracks within $50-$75 of CH2 (Cape Hatteras HL#102 rev2). It has maintained decent relative price stability as one of the top dogs during the market decline of the last few years.

Portland Head is a keystone piece in any collection. In top condition this model deserves top dollar. The problem is finding one.
