My sister and I collect H.L.,she in Va.and I in Or..We often start our conversations with "have you been lighthousing lately"Meaning- have you viewed any new actual lighthouses or second meaning-any new H.L.? "lighthousing"works for us!

Lighthousing, I like that! Plan to go to the outer banks this spring lighthousing.

Hey Moby -- if it's a verb, wouldn't it be: This Spring, I'm lighthousing on the Outer Banks!

If you used it in the past tense: I'm an HL wacko and an enthusiast of real lighthouses, too. I've been double lighthoused!

Way to long for a verb. To many letters and takes to long to say. It should be: I am HL-ing or LH-ing this Summer. Less time talking and more time LH-ing that way.

Hey Rod,
I thought alliterating was John's job!
I'm with JoAnn: "lighthousing" is more poetic than LH-ing. It "sings."
Stop and smell the roses, Paul!
Tim, how about completely conjugating this one for us, in English, German, Spanish and French?

It's smell the coffee, not roses!
Sue and I don't have to use any words, because it is a given, that we are talking about HL and lighthouses. It is understood! Besides every wacko knows what HL and LH stand for and no matter how you spell it, it is poetry!

Is that for Harbour Lights or the real lighthouses? Hey Paul, wouldn't looking for Harbour Lights be Harbour Lighting? John [I don't need to go Harbour Lighting because my dealer autoships them to me.]

If you go "lighthousing" or "Harbour Lighting," and come home with an HL, and immediately have to begin the search for Hippocampus, you must be a "Lightologist."

Now how's this for a trip? Today my friend (sometimes insignificant other) and I went HLing. On the way we drove through some back, really back, roads and saw a house that had two camels! We continued on as I was searching for a summer home on Lake Ontario that belongs/used to belong to a friend of mine. We finally found it and saw that it was for sale. Take a peek: http://oswegony.com/featprop/residential/ninemile.htm It's simply gorgeous. Sunken garden, gazebo, formerly had a grass tennis court, high above the lake. And the sunset is for real. I was there for it once. Showed friend Oswego Lighthouse (that's the lighthousing part), after the HLing when he bought me two HLs (that's the friend part)! (Now wouldn't a real friend have bought the house on the lake for me???) [This message has been edited by mombo (edited 04-06-99).]
