Hatteras On The Move will be available at about 35 events during 2000, starting with the Memorial Day unveiling at USCG Station, Cape Hatteras NC. The price is $65. No photos are being released of this piece until May 27.
The signing on Saturday May 27 is for Lighthouse Gallery of Nag's Head NC. However the actual signing will take place at a community center very close to the lighthouse (a good hour south of Nag's Head).
Five Regional Events for Collectors are being set up for 2000. The general areas will be:
- July 16 - Milwaukee WI
- August 13 - Orange County CA
- August 19 - Orlando FL
- September 16 - Chesapeake Bay area
- October 21 - Portland OR
These dates could possibly change as the area Reps are going to be working with dealers in each region to locate venues and set up.
The format will be a half-day with signings and either open discussions or a 'seminar' from Bill. Again, as each event is put together you'll find more information at
www.HarbourLights.com/events/ You will only be able to purchase 'Hatteras On The Move through dealers who sponsor these regional events or at the 30 other dealers where Bill Younger will appear during 2000.
Rep Events will still be held at many dealers around the country. This year, for the first time, there will be a separate Event Edition for Rep Events.
Kim referred to it as 'Bill's Beckoning Beacons'. It is what we collectors have called a 'dealer sign', but which HL calls a 'point of sale' piece. There are two versions. One version with the background of the sign in tan and the lettering in blue and red will be available from all Harbour Lights dealers for the suggested retail of $35.
Another version with a blue field to the sign and gold lettering will only be available from dealers holding a Rep Event in 2000. This piece shows two well-known American Lighthouse towers with a 'banner' in between reading 'Harbour Lights' and 'Keep The Flame'. Same price $35.
The 'Beckoning Beacons' pieces were sneak-previewed at the chat on 3/1/2000. I'll be posting images in a few days.
Note that there is not a 'dealer-only version' of the point of purchase piece (like the 'Red Legacy'.)
Also the two Beckoning Beacons have a flat back with three-dimensional front and sides - like a bookend.
