Hello, I am in need of advice about selling my HL collection. I have moved, and therefore will not be able to display my lighthouses. I have 19 in perfect condition, and 1 with a small chip. All in original boxes and all certificates of authenticity. I also have a few ornaments. All were purchased in 1997/1998.

What do I need to do and where do I begin?

Thanks in advance for your help. smile

God Bless, Linda Lu

You can list your lighthouses for sale in "The New Marketplace Forum. Decide on what you want for them and either list the pieces with the price or list them without the prices. Look at some of the formats that are used and go for it. Just remember the market is way down so use this when deciding on a price.

One of the ways would to track on ebay all the completed Harbour Lights that you are selling. A little work but it gives you a good idea what ones are popular and which ones are not. Make sure you only track those that sold.

Here are some basic formulas to follow. I am only refering to the Limited Editions.
There are no hard to find lighthouses in those years that you are trying to sell. Basically they will sell between %30 to %50 of retail. A few may go as high as 70%.
The great lake ones will go for lower than the Atlantic coast ones. The southern may go for a little more than the northern ones.
Any with signature series GLOW's will also go lower.
The free gift society will go for the lowest price. Around $15
Maybe ask %50to 70% for the popular lights and %40% to 50% for the run of the mill and %30 for the un popular ones.
Check to see if the top is rotated on the Washington Harbour. If so ask $100 if not go with the %40
Ebay has had a lot of spikes lalely. One may go for seventy dollars and the next exact same thing will go for $20. The higher you go the longer it will take.

Good luck

DANIEL
