Going to my Goddaughter's HS Graduation next weekend. Hopefully will at least get to the Inner Harbour. Any suggestions besides Seven Foot Knolls? Baltimore Harbor is by Gibson Island? I'm looking for good directions since I'll be beholding to whomever is driving the car. thanks, Bob

While at the site that Mark gave you http://www.cheslights.org/ , join their society. I did and I am glad I did. I just got a great newsletter. They are a very active society and have a lot going on. We are looking forward to touring the Chesapeake in a couple of weeks and the trip will be made much easier due to the help I have received from the Chesapeake Lighthouse Society. I figured joining (dues) was the very least I could do to pay them back for all of the information I have received from their website. WackoPaul 'Keep the Flame

Haven't visited that site for a while now, but it really is a good one. Suppose I need to review it before going to the area in July. Since you gentlemen, Bob and Paul are going that way earlier than I, send good info my way.
I am retracing steps made last November. My camera malfunctioned and I had no photos-so, back I go. My 85 year old Mom and 77 year old aunt are my traveling companions on this trip.

Hello Bob,
Have a great time!
Make sure the camera works and take a lot of photos!!!
I visit the Cesapeake Chapter site (as recommended by our fellow posters) about once every 2 weeks for updates, good web site!!
I'm a dreamer, I would love to rent a motor home, disappear for a few months and visit all the lighthouses EVERWHERE!!
God Bless the "world wide web" for allowing all of us to dream.

Flew into BWI 10pm Friday night. Sat 1pm -Graduation at the Cathedral of St Mary of the Saints in Baltimore. Sat 3pm - Dinner at the Rusty Scupper in Baltimore Harbor directly across the harbor from the Seven Foot Knolls Lighthouse Museum. Best Maryland Lump Crabcakes I've ever tasted. Sat 4:30pm - 95degrees - the group gave up about halfway around the harbor. New shoes, all dressed up - try again tomorrow. Sun 9;30am arrived at harbor, and had all to ourselves. Museum was not open, but got to examine outside and take photos. Also got to see Chesapeake lightship, Taske submarine, and seal feeding at the Aquarium. Sun 12:15pm - went to Downs Park to try to see Baltimore Harbor Light. From the lookout I could barely see the BLH through my telephoto lens. If Seven Foot Knoll was still in the harbor position it would have been right in front of us. Sun 12:45pm attempted to get a better view from Gibson Island but the security guard wouldn'tlet us into the private community. I thoughthewasgoing to draw his gun when I walked 6 feet past the gate to take a picture from the waters edge. "Sir, you must stay behind the gate" 3x Will try next time from Sharp Island Park by the Bay Bridge. Sun 4:50pm - BWI to Islip 5:50pm - what a great way to avoid the traffic.

Great photos Bob!
How do you think the real lighthouse compares to the sculpture done by Harbor Lights?
