Today we received a few LLOMs we bought in the USA. They all came without the little white envelope, which we expected to see by way of "paperwork". So I queried that with the lady I bought from.

Her response:
Quote:
It seems they (new owners) have discontinued putting the little envelopes in the boxes. When I got them I had called and ask about that, and they indicated this was a management decision.
Is this true? Anyone know?
And if it is true, does anyone know why?

It seems to me that this would be devaluing the LLOMs. Is that the idea? It woudl be a great shame!!

Margret,

I don't ever recall HL putting something along the lines of a COA in the boxes for the Little Lights. The little envelope contained a mini generic notecard, something I always presumed was intended to be used as a gift card. There also was a mini catalog like leaflet or booklet showcasing the LL line.

My guess would be most people really didn't use the little notecard so it became expendable and saved a little.

Well, I must admit to never having opened the little white envelope. laugh So I had no idea what was in it. I just knew there was one with every other boxed LLOM I have.
Must crawl into the attick and have a look at one some day!
Thanks for the information Dave

LLOM's are a definite plus for Harbour Lights. They are relatively inexpensive as compared to their big brothers (LE's & GLOW's), they are easy to display because of their size, and if you broke one you could replace it for a reasonable price.

I would be willing to bet that many new collectors have gone the LLOM route rather than the more expensive and larger versions.

I agree Bob! Lets hope the "powerd that be" in HL remember that!

Nothing against the big guys. I have several by now. But they are sooooo expensive to ship. The LLOMs are better for that too!

But I still LOVE the idea, that we found a Edystone (HL636) and that is special enough to pay the shipping! smile

Bob,
I am a relatively new collector and do favor the LL as they take up less space. I love the ornaments too.

From Tony Constantino:

Quote:
I read with interest the posting about the “missing” paperwork of Little Lights.
At conception each Little Lights replica contained two inserts; the first insert was a four color brochure designed to introduce the individual who purchased the Little Lights replica to Harbour Lights. The second insert was a 3”X2” gift card in a white envelope. In 2004, Younger and Associates discontinued both the Harbour Lights four color brochure and gift card.
