Anyone noticed the Point Arena auctions on
e-bay lately? Flag #184 sold for $81.00, one priced at $80.00 got no bids, as well as one priced for $99.00. Currently there are two pieces priced at $74.99 and $80.00 with no reserves and no bids yet. Seems like now is the time to buy one at retail price or maybe lower!! Never thought I'd see this piece go this low!

Be careful that the Point Arena you purchase has not been broken and repaired. The majority of these fine pieces were broken in shipment. It has been alleged that less than 50% of the 5428 made survived shipment. Lord knows how many have broken since then. Sometimes a deal is not really a deal.

Your right Bob, I almost got stuck with a broken tower when I thought I was getting a great deal at retail, in a store. Upon further review.... the tower had been re-glued to the base. Buyer be-aware!

I am the one that jumped in there and grabbed that Point arena at the last minute for 74.99 and have been told it is not broke so I am hoping for truth! that is one of the downfalls to ebay. Wish me luck all...lol
I know alot of major collecters have a big problem with Ebay but as a new collecter I have a hard time finding the older peices and it is so easy this way what is scary is there seems to be a downfall of HL bidders on Ebay I have got some very good deals lately, including a Grand Traverse and a New Canal both at 40$ each. Can't wait to receive them all!

Hi Lainey, ...I've purchased or sold over 200 items on eBay. "Knock on wood", I haven't got stuck yet. Ebay is a great place to bid low and hope for the best. There are some real bargains to be had.

I guess you just have to ask yourself, "Do I feel lucky?"
