Help me here... The camera is attached to a kite then the kite is flown over the area to be photographed? Those pics are definitely different and very interesting. I would imagine one kite crash and you've lost some serious money. Bob

There are complicated setups...and then very simple ones. There's a handkerchief one. Anyone else thinking of lighthouses where this would have made a very big difference? The offshore lights in Maryland come to my mind.
