Terrific pictures, Cary, and a nice report-just the kind of thing we love to see! Too bad about your car - and garage door! What a stroke of bad luck. You certainly had the right outlook, though, and your day ended a lot better than it started!

I think I'm still in denial that I backed my car up with the hatch up! :p

Very nice photos and story. Grace is right-sounds like the rest of the day was better and made up for the bad beginning. Thanks for sharing with us. Love to see new photos and hear lighthouse stories!

Cary, very nice report and pictures. I was looking for the link at the end of your report to "see more photos". Did I miss something there?
I was talking to the people at Absecon a few days back about their copy that will appear in the Collectors Guide. She said something about 5 acres of fenced parking on their grounds. I wondered why she wanted that included; I think I know now from your report.

Great pictures. I wish my pictures would turn out that good. I guess I'll just have to tell my husband that we have to visit more lighthouses so I can keep trying to get better. Cyndi

Nice pics, Cary! That is also a nice site you have, you should be proud of your creation. Sorry to hear about your "car vs. garage door" incident. The important thing is no one was hurt. Keep posting those pics! Bob

Thanks for the kind comments, everyone! JChidester - at the end of the report, there are 4 links with the additional pictures. They weren't underlined because of the way I coded something, but I just fixed that, and they should be more apparent now. And yes, Absecon's parking lot is fenced for a reason

Thanks, Cary.
I like the different perspectives on the Hereford Inlet shots. Espcially the garden globe one.
And that feature of your site that tells how far I am from each lighthouse is more depressing than useful to those of us living in Arizona.
Kind of makes one wonder just what area of the US would be the farthest from an actual lighthouse? Probably somewhere in the wilderness of Alaska or in South Dakota.

John,
How about the panhandle of Texas? That's a long way from anything.

Very nice everything Cary. You should be proud. I know how you feel about your car, and what you mean re the denial part. I had my first accident (hopefully my last) with my truck a few weeks ago. Even though its 5 years old its still my baby and I think it hurt me more than the truck. Allstate, my ins. co was great and I had it fixed in about 10 days -- plenty of time to leave for our vacation to Niagara Falls and some lighthousing on the Seaway Trail, from which I've just returned. Now I have to find time to post some pixs or that guy , whats his name [?] Dave something or other is gonna come after me. Maybe take my money and not let me on the boat in Oct. Geez that would be a tough swim.

Thanks I must give credit for the Garden Globe reflection idea to my girlfriend. Every trip we take, we're always in each other's way and "stealing" photo composition ideas...but it's all done in good fun

Thanks for the comments, and sorry to hear about your accident, Tom. I guess I'm just happy it wasn't any worse than it was

Cary, you certainly were taking you life in your own hands taking that Abescon night shot? It was well worth it! Bob
